Meet Super Zuri's Creator

Hi! I’m Giselle Mills, the author and illustrator of Super Zuri.

I’ve always loved reading, writing and story-telling. As a child, my siblings and I often wrote stories and dramatized them under the helpful guidance of our creative director, a.k.a “Mama”. Having grown up on a mountain on a small island in the Caribbean also fueled my creativity.

I wrote my first novel when I was sixteen years old called “Through It All”, which made me fall even deeper in love with writing stories.

Super Zuri is my latest creation. She is inspired by my real life little superhero who amazes me with her brilliance and bravery every day. After many requests for bedtime stories about mainstream superheroes, one night I decided that my little girl would be the superhero instead. And Super Zuri and the ZuriVerse were born!
